Move Towards Your Wellness
Oregon Telehealth Counseling Services
About Pathway to Wellness
The foundation of this practice is the belief that every person has the capacity to heal and grow. My approach is centered around the belief that individuals are the experts on themselves and have the ability to develop strategies that meet their unique needs. Sometimes the strategies we develop may have unintended consequences, may not always be effective, or may no longer serve their original purpose. Our work together will be tailored to you to help you break free from old patterns and narratives, and empower you to create a new pathway forward towards your wellness goals.

I am presently offering primarily Telehealth Services and can serve individuals in Oregon. It is also possible to meet in person in NE Portland if that would be of benefit.

If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing, I invite you to schedule a consultation to explore if I'm a good fit to meet your needs. The link below will bring you to a form to connect with the intake team I work with.
About me
My name is Andrea Valde
With me, you can expect a space that promotes and respects what you know about yourself, asks you to explore what you want for yourself, while also asking you to explore new ways of looking at things and new tools to approach life’s challenges.

I have professional training in mindfulness and meditation practices and techniques. I have also completed advanced training in trauma therapy approaches, DBT tools, motivational interviewing (MI), and navigating grief and loss. I know that my education will never be complete and will continue to dedicate myself to ongoing education to better support those I serve.
Education and Experience
Education:
I hold a Master of Science degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Portland State University and I graduated from this program with honors. This program combined Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling. Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling is focused on adapting one’s environment and resources to adapt to differences in ability including physical, mental health, developmental, or sensory differences. I also have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology and a focus on cognitive neuroscience. This background is reflected in my dedication to evidence based practices and use of neuroscience to better understand how we develop, function, and adapt.
Experience:
I have worked in the mental health field since 2010 in a variety of settings including Crisis Counseling, Mental Health Residential Care, and Outpatient Mental Health Clinics. Some of the issues that I have experience working with include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic, hearing voices, trauma, surviving abuse, challenges with interpersonal communication, navigating major life change, grief/loss, chronic pain, aging, work and career challenges. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Certified Trauma Professional.
Registered Professional Counselor Associate:
As an Associate registered with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. I abide by its Code of Ethics. As an Associate, I am supervised by Raina McRea, a Licensed Social Worker. This means that as I acquire my hours for my independent license, I meet with my supervisor on a regular basis for case consultation, continued education, and legal and ethical discussion.
This means you receive an extra layer of support for your mental health treatment through my supervisor’s expertise and clinical experience. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have questions about this.
Insurance and Self Pay
I am able to bill insurance. Please see Mindful Therapy Group for a full list of insurance providers I am able to work with.
I also accept self pay and charge $110 for each 53 minute session

All services you receive from me reflect my own practice style.
